Change history
Rates, mileage, roles and billing categories are not edited in place. Each
change is recorded as a version that takes effect from a date — so what a case was worth,
and which codes the site wanted, on any given day stays answerable.

Time and rounding
Firm-wide, so every voucher rounds the same way whoever logged the time.
A required category applies to time entries only — mileage is never blocked.
Non-billable reasons
Why time is logged against Not Billable — the reasons you pay for but never bill.
Dated like the rate schedules, so removing one does not rewrite what is already logged.
Pay cycle and overtime
Drives the Pay period screen and the labor cost it reports.
User settings
Just yours — nobody else sees these, and they don't affect how time is billed.

How saving works
Chrome / Edge: click Connect data folder and pick a folder in Box.
This writes daily-time.json there and re-saves automatically after every change, plus a dated snapshot in
backups/ once a day.
Safari: no folder access — the app keeps a working copy in the browser and you use Download backup / Import JSON.
Every entry stores the category code and label as text, so editing a category set later never rewrites time you already logged.
